Hi KitFoxers!
I have a quick question, and I apologize in advance for not going
directly to the archives for this, as I'm sure this info is in the
archives somewhere.
Seems as though my gas caps are leaking, and the gaskets need to be
replaced. My question is: Where might I be able to find replacement
gaskets?
Thanks in advance!

Nick,
Go to your local Mercedes dealer and get part # 140-471-00-79 seal ring.
Works great !

Go to the auto parts store and buy some gasket material. That's what I did
and I have been using the ones I made for 3 years now with no leaks.
Plus I got enough material to replace them from time to time for the life
of the plane.
Five minutes work with an exacto knife.

I went to my local hardware store an bought a new bayonet mount gas cap. I drilled it an soldered in a short piece of stem tubing for a toilet (it was chromed like the cap) and bent it forward once installed... Total cost about $5.00
A word to the wise is the bayonet type of gas cap is quickly disappearing but they do come with the gaskets installed! I won’t say what happened to my old gas cap only I didn’t fly without a cap.
