Bill and Miriam are happy to invite all our flying friends near and far to the annual fly-in, BBQ, and river float at our farm. This year (our 6th, I believe) the date will be Saturday, June 21. Rain date: 6.28/08. Please reserve it on your calendar and plan to be here.

More details, as always, will follow as the date draws closer.

Well, it's official, then.. We have to have the event now that someone is IN!

No more excuses from Leggette "My wheel pants are on fire, I sold my plane, etc, etc..." although we will let Bowen use the "I have no-airplane" one this once.

Looking forward to it, gang.

FYI - June 21st is the date of Carolina's Multi-Chapter Fly-in down at Lancaster.

Hickory, Salisbury, Charlotte, Rock Hill, & Columbia are hosting the event and we expect a large turn out.

So now the whining starts, eh?

Well, I could say I was just kidding about the proposed date, but in fact I was hoping that date would work. Earlier in the month is risky for uncomfortably cold water temps in the river, but - we are MEN, are we not? Wink

Let me see who else weighs in and think about the options. I see no reason on my personal schedule why June 14 wouldn't work, but I expect the "Cappy's Excellent Adventure - II" gang will be saddle sore from a week out west by then.

Any chance you can move it back one week?

That turns out to be the same date as our Multi-Chapter EAA fly-in in Lancaster, SC. Charlotte, Salisbury, Hickory, Rock Hill, and Columbia are all going in on one BIG fly-in.

I like the June 28th rain date as June 14th I will be motoring "to" the beach (probably in the rain).

Stormy,

It's your party, make it work with your schedule. With the many events going on that time of year, you will never please everyone, not even most everyone.

Thanks, Mike, I know that. But I'd still like to avoid major conflicts and have as many folks able to come as possible. Truth is, all the days work for me about equally well, as far as I can foresee the future.

Stormy,

The 21st sounds good to me. I never heard any of these EAA chapters put a dibs on any date. First come, first served, etc. Whatever date you decide on we're in!

Hi Bill,
I just plugged this into our Ohio Valley RVators calendar. I hope that some of us can actually make it this year....especially me!
