Our Commander is a 500-A, 1960 Model. Our manual actually shows and depicts the fuel pump located in the wheel well nose gear area. The part number that lists is weldon pump # 4031-A, and the pump assembly (motor and pump) number is 3880121. The difference in the pump is that it has a pressure relief valve on the pump body next to the in and out fittings. I have been told by C & D that this valve was required because the heater that we have uses 14 psi to operate. The newer style heater that C & D sells is 7 psi, supposedly eliminating the need for the pressure relief . That's what I have been told anyway. I am interested in trying the conversion to the engine fuel pressure guage, but have no paperwork on this series aircraft that relates to it. If I am wrong, I would really apreciate a correction slap. Thank you so much for the reply. Still looking for answers.
