Gentleman,  

            I have seen this before where someone finds it necessary to be able to activate the IDENT function of the transponder from the control stick.  I have to ask:  How often does one have to IDENT in one flight, what is the chance of activating it accidentally, and just how far would you really have to reach otherwise?
