First, SYI Skunk Works - - CONGRATULATIONS. You have made a great plane beautiful. There will be more of these awards to come for these planes.

Second, Johnny Thompson - - your paint job is close to what I would like to do, when and if my plane gets out of my mind and into reality. See attached picture.

Third, just to protect old Navy pilots (Earl, myself and others) from certain other flying type's scurrilous remarks about our (former) formation skills. I saw this blurb about an intrepid Naval Aviator saving the day:

Navy Pilot Saves Life of Air Force Pilot in Horse-Back Riding Mishap

( Denver , AP) An Air Force Pilot with the 3rd Fighter Wing narrowly escaped serious injury recently when he attempted horseback riding with no prior experience.

He mounted the horse, unassisted, and the horse immediately began moving. As it galloped along at a steady and rhythmic pace, the pilot began to slip sideways from the saddle. Although attempting to grab for the horse's mane he could not get a firm grip. He then threw his arms around the horse's neck but continued to slide down the side of the horse. The horse galloped along, seemingly oblivious to its slipping rider.

Finally, losing his grip, the Lt. Col. attempted to leap away from the horse
and throw himself to safety. His foot became entangled in the stirrup, and
he was at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as his head and upper body repeatedly struck the ground.

Moments away from unconsciousness and probable death, to his great fortune a US Navy pilot, shopping at Wal-Mart, saw him and quickly unplugged the horse.

(it does get deep) Laughing

Hi Scotty,
You beat me to the punch. I was going to use that horse back riding accident story in the next newsletter, but of course I would have reported the correct facts - ie, the correct services of the pilots in the story and other important facts. For example, the 3TFW is now in Alaska, not Denver, and we all know how bad the Denver Post is at reporting events correctly. Besides, I have heard that Naval flight training uses the "electric horses" as unusual attitude training for their young air cadets. So based on that I have to assume that you are fully qualified galloping Naval aviator. Wink
All kidding aside, I didn't see an attachment to your message. I think you were going to send an example of what your future paint scheme was going to be like.
Blue Skies, good buddy,
buz

Yo Buz,

Sorry to steal your thunder (well, maybe sort of - - - nnaaahhhh).

Well that is strange to hear about the attachment. It shows up on mine at the bottom of the message body as a miniature click and open picture of the attachment. I wonder what the difference is? Does anyone else see the attachment?
