Nice. No folded wings, either.
Wonder how he entered an "unrecoverable spin", though...

Patrick:
Thanks for sharing that. It gives me great pleasure knowing the BRS system works on the 601XL. I hope I never have to use it but it is nice to know it is there.

The photo is small but I'm pretty sure this is one of the installation where
the chute was mounted between the firewall and the panel. I guess if this is
one of the lighter European XLs then that could have used one of BRS's
canister models. Either way it is a tight fit.

Personally I dont buy this ... All of us that have flown a Zenith airplane know how dificult is to try to spin the ZAC airplanes.
Of course I have not tried to spin one and never will try. But we just need to ask Roger or Sebastien IF they (at the factory) have spun tested the XL and how they handle it.
I am sure was designed to come out of a spin easy (positive stability) as any airplane (given is inside the weight and balance values).
What I think happened in this case, is that either of them (pilot or passenger) accidentaly pulled the BRS handle. and the BRS pop out...
Now as the airplane descends at about 700 fpm the airplane bent... Now they want to "justify" the damage done to the airplane Hope they are the owners or have insurance.

It's irresponsible comments like this that hurt this forum. NOBODY cares what you think may have happened.
Stick to the facts.
