Got the nose ribs riveted, Aileron Access Cover and the Leading edge scratch built this week. Spent less time on the net and more time in the Garangar. Not only did I make more progress, I feel better.

Cool. Wish I could say the same. I'm probably not going to be able to get back to building til July or August. House projects. Ugh.

Ron,
How did you handle the leading edge? Didn't use the vacuum cleaner method did you? Sound like you're making great progress.
I made some headway on my canopy this weekend. Got the latch mechanism working. I got wing parts made, but haven't assembled them or skinned them yet.

Didn't use the vacuum method, used the press method on the table top. First banded then squashed between two surfaces to 58mm stops.
If you're interested, I took a bunch of pictures and posted them on mykitlog.

I like to see how you did it. Did you do full 12' nose skins?

Yep!
Take a look at the log entries starting here:
http://mykitlog.com/users/display_log.php?user=rlendon&project=113&category=0&log=27672&row=234
The only variance is the 1.75" should be 2.3" or 58mm. I had to remake it on the left wing and learned a valuable lesson about moving to fast and jumping to confusion. The second and third ones came out perfect and I figured out how to place the 3/4" x 4' x 8' and 3/4" 4' x 4' all by myself without hurting myself. I didn't get any pictures of the process because I was stooped over with a sheet of MDF on my back.
