Welcome back, Howard. You've had some bad luck with Kifoxes! First, the
Purple Monster crashing and burning after sucking in that bird, then losing
another to a hangar fire. Are you sure you want to build again? Then
again, they say that "Three times is a charm!".
Yes, the List has some new members, but most of the old timers and charter
members are still here and things have been fairly smooth for the most part.
Yes, John McBean has successfully resurrected the Kitfox factory and all of
us are relieved to have his support and knowledge available to us when we
need it.
Other than that, nothing much has changed.
Later,

I think 3 times might be a charm...I'm just not ready to throw in the towel! I have lots of AN hardware and extra parts for kitfox also. I see that NSI is no longer...Do you hear from Lance at all? He was really bending over backwards to help me out on my turbo ea-81...

NSI isn't necessarily gone. It just changed names to MPS, Maxwell
Propulsion Systems, but they're not supporting the EA81 or CAP140 any
longer, only the bigger block Soobs, like the EJs. Lance is gone and the
owner of the company is now running the place. Lance always helped me out
with good advice and service, and I never had a problem with him or his
product. Not all NSI owners will say the same, but they are actually a very
small number compared to the number of engines sold. Mostly what is heard
are anecdotal stories from non-owners or the vocal minority.
Glad to have you back Howard.

That's too bad about Lance. Too bad he couldn't stay as an engineer or designer. I really like the EA-81 and with my two engines, I liked the non turbo version better. Possibly I may be able to find a used -81 with a CAP.
I'm planning on starting a project next spring when my finances might be in better shape...Let's see...house first, then kitfox, then food and clothes...that's the order I'm looking for!

By the way, what happened around here with gas? In Saudi, it was about 15 cents per liter in the little town I was in....
