Well I have started painting and have picked the worse part to start with. The cowl haves. Its like holding on to a wet noodle trying to sand it by its self. Has anyone got any good designs for stands or things to hold different parts for sanding and painting? Pictures would be great. I have made a rotisserie for the fuse that should work good. Holding the rudder, elevators, etc. are the main problems. I don't want to paint them mounted on the plane for you cant get in all the areas properly. Any suggestions appreciated. Tex

Tex,
Hopefully someone will have some suggestions as to making stands for sanding and painting, but I do have one suggestion for painting. When painting any control surface, it is always best to have it hanging up or mounted on a stand so that the leading edge is down. That way as the paint flows out it runs towards the leading edge and therefore the extra weight of the paint on the control surface tends to go forward and thus help static balance and this will help prevent possible flutter.
