Kolb guys,

I WAS headed out in the morning, headed to Missouri. I've got my trailer loaded with the MkIII and a lot of construction tools in the truck (Ford F450). I was "ready to roll out!!"

I thought I'd do a quick practice run around the block, just to make sure everything was tied down good. Fired up the truck put it in "drive"....and could barely move forward!!! I went ahead and pulled out of the driveway and tried to go around the block, but when I got to a slight incline......no go!!

I thought it might be just low on tranny fluid...so I added a few quarts (takes 17.5). Nothing!!

Before this crud popped up, I've never ever had any indication of ANY mechanical problems, transmission or otherwise. It only has 48,000 miles on it.

My apologies for this not being very Kolb-like, but you guys ARE the smartest guys I know.

Anyone with any automatic transmission knowledge?? I'd sure appreciate your opinions off-list.

Mike Welch
MkIII CX

PS. Scott, looks like I'll have time to send those photos you asked for...tomorrow.

That was my thinking, you sure there is not a brake being activiated on the trailer ? A Kolb in a trailer is not that heavy, your truck should barely even notice its there !

I'll assume you detached the trailer and still same problem right?

If the engine is not reving then perhaps your engine computer has put the vehicle in limp mode.

Some local car parts place do free diagnostic downloads.

I'd say that is your first course of action.

All to frequently a sensor goes dumb and tells the computer the wrong thing making full performance unavailable.

Sometimes its the $20 dollar sensor going bad that gives unscrupulous car repair places the opportunity to rebuild your transmission or engine, and replace the sensor, proving they did the right fix.

Better get that checked at a place that does not do those repairs.
