I powder coated mine as part of a batch which really reduces the cost/unit.

Yeah, I think I paid about that much (maybe a little more but under $200) to powder coat the steps, control sticks, rudder pedals, tie down rings AND the center support rod by the windshield.

For those that are in the NorthEast area, I highly recommend TRG Coating (http://trgcoating.com/). Quality work, good prices, and quick turnaround.
