I need to put some new skins on my airplane and was looking for some input.

I know Desser supplies some but was curious what everyone else has done....

Thanks in advance!

Tim

Model Numbers and Prices would be helpful too. Quality is number one though...

Tim, That is basically your only option unless you have Desser recap
your existing tires. Ski's are another option of course. Smile

Tim,

We regularly use the Aero Classic tires from Speciality tires of America for
the main wheels (500x150). We would use the 400x150 (nose) also if it were
not for the fact that they are only rated to 35psi and the Manuals say 3-3.5
bar (approx 50psi). Our local CAA won't accept them, even though we used
these tires for a number of years before we were forced to migrate to the
G-reg. We got pulled up about these on a Su-26 and had to change them, since
then we use Polish tires. These are purchased from a tire supplier n the UK
who import them and they are certainly not cheap.

How does a fence affect your takeoff roll?

Rate of climb is reduced as a function of the amount of fence remaining
attached to your skis.

Note: it is possible for rate-of-climb to be less than zero leading to
operation in an undesirable flight regime. Unwanted ground-contact is
possible in this flight configuration.

Sorry Tim,

I forgot you've got a 50. I've got a set of ski's for a Yk-52 here. No use
for them here in the UK. Anyone got any pics of a Yk-52 on ski's? I've only
ever seen a small pic. Can't see much from that.
