Because of the popularity of the ultralight hobby, crashes of this type of airplane are not unusual in White County. O’Brien said the last incident happened "a couple of years ago."
The problem with such planes, he said, is that if something goes wrong, there are no safety features to protect the pilot.
"It’s like a hang glider with an engine," he said.
Sounds like someone in the local area should have a talk with sheriff O'brian and elevate his IQ

That guy definitely needs to be educated on small experimental aircraft..>
Some hope! This is newspaper reporter you are talking about. In general
they are beyond educating..
A journalist is a man who would rather write a thousand words of imaginary
description than check one fact.

Not Kolb Related but since it is so slow....
Pat,
I believe you are correct. Anyone remember the "journalist" Stephen Glass that was caught completely fabricating over 1/2 of his reporting stories when he was a writer at The New Republic, the one in-flight magazine on Air Force One? After he was found out and fired he eventually wrote a novel called "The Fabulist" about a writer fabricating journalist stories. I suppose he should have tried fiction from the beginning but he probably would not have attained fame without his infamous tour in fantasy journalism. Are all "journalists" frustrated novelists?
