I am going to make the trip for a couple of days, probably Wednesday and Thursday.  



Since this is my first trip, does anyone have a few pointers?   Big question is how does one find anything in that place?

only be there Monday and Tuesday.

Also I see you are active on the MGL Stratomaster list. Aside from staff

from SportFlyingShop being there Rainier and his wife will be up from MGL HQ

Watch out! You won't be able to skip a year from now on!



Fellow lister Rick Lindstrom wrote an excellent article for the August 2004

issue of KITPLANES ("VFR to Oshkosh: Strategies for a Successful Sojourn"),

which can be downloaded from Kitplanes.com.



Get the NOTAM, for sure. Lots of water - it's easy to get dehydrated. Find

the CoolSpace booth in the exhibit hangars and stand in front of their big

cooler from time to time. They have maps of what's where. I haven't tried

bread crumbs, but have been tempted when they move stuff around.

I will be there all week working as a volunteer EMT picking up dehydrated spectators.  Obviously a big ditto on drinking a lot of water.  Good walking shoes is also a plus.  I have transported a lot of women in high heals to the parking lot over the years due to blisters.  Buy the convention guide when you get there and spend some time looking at the forum and workshop schedules.  You obviously will not have time to do everything you want to do, but at least you will have choices to plan around.

I'm planning on flying my Zodiac in on the weekend before and staying  

the whole week. I'll probably park in front of homebuilt HQ again.



Bring some good walking shoes, sunscreen, a water bottle and a hat.

I will be there camping out for the week in the north 40 with friends.  The plan so far is to try and ride that Light Sport Recumbent from Manitowoc at the Boat dock.  Don't know if it will be safe but I am looking into it.  Otherwise Miss Piggy (Harley Ultra Classic) and I will be there.

I'll be arriving Sunday morning with my friends Rick and Pramod.  We'll be staying for the week at camp scholler.   I'm also going to the corvair thing at Falcon Automotive in Fitchburg Sunday afternoon.



Like others before me have said and can't be stressed enough, apply sunscreen liberally, drink plenty of water, and wear comfortable shoes.

I will be flying my CH-801 in on Saturday morning (July 26) and will  

be camped in the Homebuilders field until the following Saturday (or  

Sunday). This will be my 3rd year (with the 801). I hope I will see  

more 801's this year.

I have been reading this thread (and taking notes as well). 

We shall be there from the 24 to the 4th.

This will be be my first time as well and I hope to have a chance to sneak 

out and take in the "whole nine yards".

We will be coming over from Australia. This will be our first trip to Oshkosh. 

We will be there for the whole week.



We are building a 601XL at present.
