I have an XCOM radio with the built in intercom (2 place for me) and was wondering about anyone else's experience with it. Should i look at adding the sigtronics intercom? Is it necessary? In the write ups and demo dvd it looks like it will work well. Any thoughts.

Haven flown yet but my wife and I both sit in the cockpit and make airplane
noises. The XCOM seems perfect with its intercom. More later..

I have am XCOM radio in my flying 601XL and all of the
features work just fine. The intercom function
performs well. I have the MGL Enigma EFIS coupled to
the XCOM, and my passengers report that the voice
messages from Enigma are loud and clear.

Thanks for the responses. I have gone with just the XCOM and no separate intercom. I have it all hooked up and can receive as I hear the guys flying above but my intercom is not working. I cant hear myself or music input???? Any suggestions? I have gone through the wiring again and it looks fine. When I hit the PTT you can hear it transmit (sounds that way) but I still cannot hear myself.

Mark

Have you
Used the 'Mode' button to set up the intercom volume and intercom squelch
and Pilot feedback. Also there is also a dedicated switch for On, Off,
Isolate.

Gary thanks.
I havent yet put the switch in as I was hoping I would not need it with only 2 people in the plane. I will put it in and see if that is the issue. Probably wont work unless the switch is in i guess.
Thanks
