Ben,

I'm thinking we trade Torque in for a 9 lb dog. Hauling a 55 lb bull dog
around in the back of the -9 is fun but getting him back there is a real
PITA!

As for Nora, I figure in late October she will "drop" a little less than 10
lbs.

Bill

Garry,

The gear legs might be the thing that tripped the scale in his favor as they
weigh a ton!

My -9 has paint only for an interior and a very simple panel, so I doubt
there is much savings there.

The O-235 is lighter than the O-290 in my -9 but only by a few lbs, 10-15 I
think.

Using auto fuses in place of the CB's and CB switches I have could save a
good bit, along with using a Dynon D180 and handheld radio will cut a lot of
weight. Then he could also leave off the position lights, landing lights,
strobes, right stick, drill holes in the seat backs like on the -12,
transponder (just stay clear of mode C vales, and a few more things I can
think of.

Every ounce adds up. If he can get it down to around 750 lbs, then the next
trick is slowing it down. That can be done with an artificially low red
line and a climb prop.

Oh, one other thing, my Catto prop only weighs 9 lbs. So wood props are the
only way to go.
