Dear friends, I am overwhelmed by all your kind words and best wishes.
I am now back to the hospital of my home town, with a defibrillator/pacemaker implant. It was tested this morning and I must say that it is very strange to see a doctor in front of a computer, regulating my heartbeat at distance!
Yes, I will continue to fly because ... it is the best thing I have done in my life and I could the days to be back in the sky. But it will probably be with my son as PIC. Because, although I have only the Norwegian ultralight (equivalent to Sport Pilot) license, I am pretty sure that I will be facing a quarantaine before I can fly alone. My driving license is already withdrawn for a year. You see, while many have heart attacks, few have it followed by a cardiac arrest as I did. In fact, I was heart dead for about five minutes. If such thing repeats itself on the road or in the air, I am a danger for third parties.
Apparently my cardiac arrest was triggered by a very mild heart attack but it doesn't explain why it ceased to beat. The doctors think of a birth defect but are not certain, hence the 'portable' defibrillator they want me to wear now.
Again, thank you for all your kind words and I'll fly again ... but I need to sort out a few things first.
Best regards,
Michel Verheughe

Great to hear from you Michel..
I hope you can get your son as interested in the 'Fox as you sure are.
Better to be second seat than no seat at all! Take it easy and do whatever
the Docs tell you to do even though at times it may sound not quite right.
Some of them actually don't fly.

Michel:
I am relatively new to the Kitfox community having just acquired my plane last summer. Since that time I have appreciated your posts on this list. I am planning to convert my Fox to a Jabiru 2200 once the rotax meets its TBO and your experience with this engine in your Fox is invaluable. Please continue posting. Remember, the heart may be (temporarily) weak, but the mind is strong!!
God speed for your recovery,
Ken Potter

Michel:
Is good to know that you have a "calibrated" pacemaker in place. Your words, as usual, show an optimistic attitude about your health and your future in aviation, and I'm happy about that. I'm looking forward for more pictures and reports from your well known flying trips, no matter if your son is beside you. You are in my prayers. My best wishes for you, amigo mio!!!

Hi all, I am a college girl. My diet is pretty normal, although there are too little vegetables and fruits. I do not have any eating disorders and I am not on other diet, although if that one would help me, please recommend a diet plans. But I love meats. Can someone please come up with diet plans and exercise plans for me? If they have been proven to work very well, then I'll happily follow them. Thank you so much in advance.

Posting medical questions on an aviation forum is obviously one of them.

The latter. But that comes from my experience with a Rotax 914.

defibrillator...I mean how many minutes after the attack is there no chance of
bringing the victim back.

Does this happen during a ground loop? Check location of CHT sensors. Best practice is
to dedicate a mounting point other than on the spark plug. If you apply them to the
spark plug, they go between the plug and the washer.
This may only apply to two strokes like the 582. At least my 914 doesn't have/need a
defibrillator.

Would that be on skis? The word is longer skis give better control. More area is
definitely recommended for deep powder.
I'd say, you're ready for an annual or a condition inspection. You probably need more
help than can be provided by the standard A&P even if they are instructor and
instrument rated.

I don't know why this comes on the Kitfox list but ... yes, one can survive a cardiac arrest with no brain damages.
On the 27th of July, last summer, I suffered actually three consecutive cardiac arrests with a total of five minutes technically death. Luckily, I was already in the ambulance when it happened because a British survey that I read gave me only 2 percent chances to survive.
I have now a implanted cardiac defibrillator, same model as Dick Cheney, I was told, and I have no brain damages (okay, stop laughting, guys! and feel in better shape than before because now, I try to take care of myself and I bicycle / walk / jog about three-quarters every day.
The only problem is that I lost my driving license and pilot license.
Cheers,

Do I really need to say that this is wildly off-topic? Please reply off-line unless adequately humorous. (Thanks Paul.)
