Does anyone know if the new 51% rule will affect the Glasair Two Weeks to Taxi program?
I'm looking to build a Sportsman 2+2 through the Two Weeks program but I need to know if the new rule will somehow negatively affect me.
Thanks,
Josh
Thanks,
Josh

I asked Harry Delong (Glasair salesman) about that at Oshkosh, and he
said that the way he understood the proposed new rule it would not
adversely affect their program. I would suggest you call them though and
get the message from the source.

Kind of crazy when the last time I heard that the EAA boasts that no builder has ever been sued by the relatives of someone killed in a homebuilt that they had purchased. These planes have the added paper work that they were years ago donated as salvage and they may be nearing the "Twenty Year Rule" that exempts them from litigation. I could understand it a little if a Glasair had an in flight airframe failure, but as hard as many flyers try, there has never been one. I had a German yacht manufacturer look at my kit and ask if I was building a tank! He added that Stoddard Hamilton had already done the work that could cause problems if done wrong. I would try to get a lawyer to talk to them....they sound paranoid.
