On another list, I saw mention of a Rotax 906 engine from the 1980's...
seems it was a two cylinder, 35hp, 75lb four stroke engine. I presume it
never saw production, what a pity! Would've been a great alternative to
the Cuyuna or 447 on the smaller Kolbs. I wonder whatever happened to it?

Might be time for Rotax to revisit it, with the resurgence of interest in
103 legal ultralights.

If there was any logic in this world, it would be men who ride
side-saddle, not women.

Dana- Very interesting. Did you try to get ahold of Fisher? Could be it was too expensive, considering their prices on 2 strokes.

Dana,
That is cool!
No doubt was a forerunner to the 912 series and Rotax must have decided to
go bigger and wound up with the 912.
Sometime in between it got more complicated with the liquid cooled heads.

Y'all;
I believe the engine was a 508 which was a 4 stroke which Rotax had on the
market around '91 or '92.
