|
|
I just replaced the rudder torque tubes on my KF IV (that I purchased a couple of months ago) and was wondering if anybody has any interest in the ones I took out. They are the older style without the "gussets" and are red powder coated. The right tube has a bend in the vertical rudder upright (pilot's side that the brake pedal attaches to) at the weld where it attaches to the main tube. The right brake wasn't holding very well and I believe the owner/builder bent it some with excessive pressure when he was delivering it to me and then I continued the process. Anyway, I would think that it is repairable and the left tube appears to be fine. The plane was completed in 2001 and has only flown about 88 hrs. I'm not a builder or welder so I opted to buy new from Kitfox and wouldn't mind recouping some of my cost in cash or trade, if someone could use these. If interested, send me an e-mail to pperryrph(at)sbcglobal.net, and by the way, thanks to all that post and maintain this site as I have been able to gain a bunch of valuable info as a new KF owner...Paul P.
