The subject says it all. Putting together the control column and pivots. I did not do it by the book cause I could not see how coming in from the top would help me to turn the pivot into the mount. What a pain! Below is a picture of how I did it. It's a bit irrelevant though because I seem to have trouble reaming the .250" holes. The bit wobbled through the one on the end of the column and also through the right stick pivot. Sticking bolts through the holes, they go in very loose. So I guess I'll be ordering new parts from Kitfox. Anyone out there have photos of how they did theirs? And John, if you're reading this, just looking for pictures that's all.

Tip:
Pull the reamer. Meaning use the shaft to provide the alignment to
prevent an ovulated hole. I use an old drill chuck so I can get a
fist full for hand reaming. I never use a drill for reaming. To easy
to screw up the hole.

I second Paul's suggestion to PULL the reamer through the hole. Need
a 1/4" hole? Drill with a 15/64" drill bit, then use a .249" reamer,
then check the fit of the bolt. If it doesn't fit use the .250"
reamer....but PULL the reamer through the hole, never push it.

Jorge, I supplemented the reamer set with the the next two sizes under each size that came with my kitfox tool kit. Many places I had to start with a reamer one or two sizes smaller to ream just the powder coating out of the way.
You should be able to slide the reamers in from the open end of the control column and then through the pivot hole on the closed end. Same as you will place the bolt there.
I ruined a few parts myself, some more than once. Hopefully your control column can be fixed with a little welding.

Jorge,
I am building a model IV so am not really familiar with the Supersport
parts, but I find also that after reaming the stick pivots, there is a bit
of slop. what I do, at least on the pilot side, is drill out the pivot a
bit on each side, maybe a quarter inch, then put a bushing in that is reamed
to the proper inside diameter. I make the bushings of Delron plastic that
is reputed to be self lubricating. I did it on the old airplane and it
worked for the 900 hours it survived. I just did it on the new one as well.
