Hi Guys

My 701 engine speed will increase if I don't hold a firm grip
on the throttle..It does not stay where it is set. Is there a solution..
I thought of taking out the springs on each carburetor which opens
the throttle to release the pull back tension any suggestions would
be appreciated.
On the CanZac floats..I did not receive a reply from Mark Townsend
on My floats ordered on Feburary 7th and promised for May 15th..
I will cancel this order as I don't think there is a chance of getting
floats from CanZac ..If you need a set of floats I suggest you look elsewhere
for them..My whole summer float flying season was not available because of it.
Zenith Aircraft said they have been aware of this problem with Canzac
for more then a year..They are looking at a float kit you can build yourself.
and other options too

Alvin

Do not remove or change the carburettor throttle springs.
They guarantee power if something fails. You can easily
increase friction on the transverse throttle bar or replace
the pilot side throttle to one having adjustable friction.

Hi Alvin,
I had the same gripe with my Subaru powered 601hds and removed the
springs and went to
a throttle-cable arrangement that has a sheath guided 1/16th diameter
music wire. It's push pull now and
works like any Cessna or Piper and I like it much better. Also, I got
rid of the dual cables as well
and went with a flexible interconnect to tie the two throttle arms, so
only one cable from the firewall
forward is needed. The throttles stay exactly at the same relative
positions open thru closed.
5 or more pictures on my sites engine page describe the arrangement
which is only similar to the Rotax.
