Linda, after seeing your inspection form, I think you must have a pre-flight card, that is also outstanding you use. Whould you share it with us? Tex

Tex,
I don't have a card for pre-flight inspection but I have a checklist I keep in the airplane; I am attaching it so you can adapt as necessary to match your plane/equipment. Just fold each page in half and place in a plastic sleeve or laminate. Hope this helps.

Tex,
Have you looked at section 3 (emergency procedures) and section 4 (normal procedures) from the Lightning Flight Manual? They are designed to be shrunk down to cockpit checklist size. Then just put them in the standard plastic checklist binders. That is what I use in my jet.

Hey Buz: Is there a Lightning flight manual? Where do we get it?

Lynn,
Roger that. Every aircraft must have a flight manual to be legal to fly. For experimental aircraft, the builder develops one based on his 40 hour phase one test period. The Lightning flight manual was originally developed when the prototype was in phase 1 testing (July 2006 as I recall) and Nick has updated it as things have changed. Arion can provide you a copy of that one on a CD and you just update section five, the performance section, based on the data you develop during phase 1 testing. Actually there are a few other things that should be changed such as your individual aircraft's weight and balance, installed equipment, etc., but you get the picture.
How are things going with your new jet?
Blue Skies,
Buz
