In an effort to figure out why the fuel gauge doesn't work on my Yak 52 project...I removed it and pulled the case apart. There's nothing inside of it. F---ing Russians. Anybody have or know where to find a new/used one?

Chris Keating; Upon discovering a partially inop fuel indicator in my yak 50 a year or two ago, I contacted Jill Genetzke Hayse in Kingman Arizona. She said she had a used one on hand but did not know if it worked. When I received it I put it into my aircraft and found that it too was partially inop-except that it was slightly less inop than my original unit ; still, all the lights were not functioning. I swapped bulbs around but never was able to achieve a fully functioning unit. At that time, Jill indicated that these units were hard to find. I don't know what the present availability is; I'm still operating with the top  two light levels inop and timing my fuel use. Suggest you contact Jill and make an inquiry.

Cliff, I did talk to Jill today. She doesn't have any in stock, but may be able to track one down. I was hoping to find someone with a salvage airplane and not have to wait for one from Europe.

Where did you get the airplane or who did you buy it from?

Try West London Aero Club Russian Engineering. They say they out on their website currently. They usually have them in stock though.

Thanks for the responses. It looks like I've located one that one of our members has. If not I'll try WLAC.

If the Yak 52 has resistive sending units, why not just replace the Russian version with an EI gauge? EI makes some nice stuff. There is also one made by CruzPro that is interesting.
