Darin, George, and any other 582 drivers, What routing did you use to install heater. One of you said you needed more heat, some one said you get plenty.
Here's my theory. Tell me if I am right or not. I want to install my supply to the heater in the hose as close to the engine as possible after the coolant exits the engine at the head. Coolant will be hottest there. I want to return coolant from heater to system as close to pump as possible. This would mean path of least resistance would route as much hot coolant as 5/8" heater hose could handle and remainder would continue thru radiator. And, shut off valve in heater hose only would not restrict 1" radiator routing should it fail, as you pointed out Darin. It would also help to use Y's instead of tee's. Anybody got a source for 1"x1" x 5/8" Y's or tee's?

Marco C I must have deleted the 5/8" valve part # that Darin and George sent to me. I thought I kept the message but can't find it. I bought the valve from Parts America which is the same as Kragen Auto Parts. I can't diagram it. I haven't assembled it yet. I'll take pictures when I am assembling it. The part # for the valve would be archived in message from Darin Hawkes or George C can't recall his last name at moment. And I bought 1" 5052 Aluminum tube from ACS.

Marco C I am a Pontiac Fiero crazy. I am using a heater core from a Fiero. I found it new on E-Bay at some radiator supply house reducing slow moving inventory for $25 or so. I made a mounting frame from aluminum angle pop riveted together and got a 12 volt 6" computer fan at Radio shack for $19 or there abouts. Should work. Darin Hawkes said he has all the heat he can use on his heater. Hey Darin what is the routing on your heater set up?
