Sorry Guys that I've caused you so much
grieve with my posting, my apologies.

All I want is to keep my CJ-6 in a flyable and
most possible safe condition, so I guess I have
the right to be not happy with certain parts and
want to give some other vendors besides Doug
a chance as well.

But what really disappoints me is that some
of you are willing (and did already) to hold justice
over a man without knowing any of the facts,
shame on you.

Yes, English is my third language and I am a
foreigner so some of you are absolutely right,
there is no place on this list for a guy like me.

Case closed.

Elmar

You are welcome to this list. Just contact Doug and work it out. We all need

Elmar,

Don't be so quick to quit the 'list. The world changes, and so does the CJ world. I have made some good buys from unknowns over the 13 years I have operated these aircraft , AND I have been shafted by a few dealers as well. Doug Sapp is a constant. Always good to his word and fair with his prices.

You have to had been around a while to appreciate the "bad old days" when CJ and Yak dealers were as plentiful as Old-time Carnival Barkers (dictionary needed here?). Doug has brought stability to the business of keeping us flying.

As far as comments on the 'list go, don't pay too much attention. "Players" on the 'list come and go, sometimes disappearing and then re-emerging years later. I haven't seen much new lately but you never know so I stay tuned via the Digest version.

My interest is in any new maintenance problems and the latest and greatest mods. I know what the Yak-50/52 can and can't do, and I also know what the stock CJ can and can't do. I don't need to read those discussions based on opinions. What ONLY I know is what MY aircraft can do. This is why I'd like to see an all-comers "shoot-out" at one of our events.

Me want to kick some Big Butt!

Well Bill, speak for yourself please.

Here is a summation:

Elmar makes accusations against Doug of poor business practices. I.E. Selling poor quality parts, not replacing defective merchandise and just being unethical at heart.

Doug does not get angry, but politely denies these accusations and offers to be reaonsable with any complaint Elmar has, and points out some other interesting facts.

A number of people who have had dozens of productive transactions with Doug state their support for the man. Not ONE OTHER PERSON states any complaint about Doug or his business ethics.

Elmar then says "shame on us" for showing support for Doug and not him, "without knowing all the facts" does not address anything Doug has said or offered, does not offer any more facts and basically slams anyone who supports Doug regardless of their factual and personal experiences.

There may indeed be a place for anyone and everyone on this list, but there really is no room for that kind of behavior.

Every person who hangs out here has seen these kinds of personal accusations made in public before and they are NEVER productive. N E V E R

Elmar came here hoping that he could get enough people to listen to him and gang up on Doug, or cost him business. He was unsuccessful. Now he feels slighted and says "shame on all of you" and says there is no place here for him. Whatever.

So OK. Maybe Doug does not mind stuff like this. You may not mind it. I do. Take this whole subject off the list PLEASE and do not bring it back or *I* will be the person calling Matt and complaining.

There is no place on the YAK LIST for unproven personal accusations against any of us, let alone a professional who's income relies on his reputation.

Sorry for being so politically incorrect.

Guys/ Elmar
I do thank every one of you for your support, I do appreciate it, but I do agree that this should stop, you are correct Mark this is not the right stuff for the list.
My initial post was never meant to garner a "show of hands", but rather to answer Elmar's charges, it should have ended there but it did not. About Elmar:
he is not a bad guy, if he is guilty of anything, maybe it's just not understanding how things work. I have no hard feelings, I do however feel that the loss of
ANY CJ or Yak driver from the list is not a good thing. The community as a whole suffers when we exclude anyone, everyone should be made to feel welcome
no matter who they like, don't like, or where they shop for parts, those who wish to buy from other vendors should do so. This "all inclusive" issue is near and dear to me,
I have spoken out about it previously, but that's off the subject and fodder for another day.

Elmar, if you have not yet pulled the plug on the list, and are reading this I would welcome your call or email (off list), let's try to put this behind us. I personally
do not want to run into you at a fly-in and not feel good about shaking your hand or buying you a beer after the flying day is done.

Always Yakin,
Doug

Mark,

I do speak for myself. I agree that this isn’t the place. Which is why I said what I did, “Contact him off line”

But what part of “Welcome to the list, and you and Doug should work this out” bothers you?
Holding a grudge are we? Life is way to short for that. There is way to much gas to burn in my airplane.
“Too many guys to hang with”

Mark, I have imported 37 airplanes. I have been screwed by more people than I choose to remember. I’ve lost $185,000 on one deal. Sent the money to them for 4 airplanes, money and airplanes disappeared. This July when I had my heart attack in Amsterdam, (On an airline trip) the ones that ran off with my money actually called the hospital to check on me, one of the wives came there from Praque to stay with my wife. Shit happens. The sun will still rise, hopefully we will all be vertical, and I have enough air for one more engine start.

Time to forgive and move on. (I didn’t say forget, always take care of business) Especially if it didn’t concern anyone but Doug. Yet.

That’s the last of it from this end.

Blue Skies

Bill
