Dear Listers,



The percentage of people making a Contribution to support the Lists this year is currently lagging behind last year by approximately 21%!  I'm hoping that everyone is just waiting until the last minute to show their support... 



Please remember that it is solely your direct Contributions that keep these Lists up and running and most importantly - AD FREE!  If the members don't want to support the Lists directly, then I will likely have to start adding advertisements to offset the costs of running the Lists.  But I *really* don't want to have to start doing that.  I really like the non-commercial atmosphere here and I think that a lot of the members appreciate that too.

Curiosity question since I've already made my contribution and really appreciate the ad free nature of the RV forums.



1. Is the total # of subscribers down by any percentage?



2. Do you have a breakdown by forums?  

a. membership compared to last year?

b. percentage of donation (up or down per forum) compared to last year.

What sort of contribution amount are you looking for per person? I may be shot, but ads never bothered me unless they're the kind that float across the page.

I gladly sent money rather than choke on ads like Vans Air Force or the ole Yahoo filtration and editing crap.  No shots taken.  However none of the kicker gifts motivated me this year cause I got the stuff in past years.

  

 My 401K has been hit a lot worse than 21%.

OK, I'll bend the rules.......Ditto, although I found a free gift that I 

could use. I think of all the time money this list and Tim's and others' 

build sites save me, allowing me to make fewer(or different) mistakes.

    Plus it is cheaper than most aviation magazine subscriptions and

IMHO I get more out of the mailing lists than the magazines most months.

Heck, I still get things off the list so each year I've upped

my contrib a little more.  The lack of ads is really a plus

to me.  It's nice to just get the content, and I STILL appreciate

it being in my inbox, because that makes it more iphone/itouch

friendly than the web.  The way I see it, I've saved so many

hundreds in advice and tips, I can't see not being here.  And

I support it because it's not done as a commercial thing...Matt's

just a fellow builder who spends time providing a place.



Where else can you ask a question like I did the other day

about the EIS, and get the reply you need emailed direct to

you within 15 minutes (sometimes)?

There is no single better bang for the buck during the build than this list.  Interestingly there are also a number of us finished with the build and flying that also find value.
