Hi,

contemplating the DYNON ems for Christmas. (this will be an eventually and additional instrument to their new EFIS)

Has anyone installed DYNON into their Chang/YAK? If so, which sensors can we use, which ones can we not use.

Has anyone installed another EMS that worked well?

Mike

Mike:

If you want to monitor all 9 cylinders, you are limited to which system you use. I installed the Blue Mountain Sport EFIS with their engine pod that allows for monitoring all 9 cylinders as well as rpm, MP, oil temps, fuel flow (so it is coupled with the GPS in the unit for fuel burn, range, etc), and amps.

Otherwise, JPI's EDM 700-9c is another way to get 9 cyl engine monitoring and fuel flow data (for about $4K).

Craig

PS - We'll post pics of the panel once installed in the plane (it is being bench tested this week). It will be flying in January and we should have more info then. Barry Hancock with Worldwide Warbirds is doing all of the installation work.

Thanks for the tips,, looked at the BMA stuff.. little rich for my blood. I was thinking of mointoring 1 egt and cht, or maybe even 2. Currently monitor one of each with the old equipment. I would also do oil pres/temp, fuel pres, map, rpm,oat... pretty much give me what I have now.

In that case....take a look at the Grand Rapids Technology EIS or the EI SR-8A.
