All Lightning list members,
The January Lightning Newsletter is now posted at the Arion Lightning web site (http://www.flylightning.net/Newsletters.htm).
It will also be up at Jim Langley's web site this evening
(http://www.jimslightning.com/html/newsletters.html).
As usual, I am requesting any and all feed back in order to improve the enjoyment and usefulness of the newsletter to the Lightning community. Along that line I am including a short survey about the newsletter and the past years editions at the bottom of this message. Just copy and past it (with your thoughts) in an email to me so that I can start working on possible improvements. Yes, this is an attempt to get more feedback from you on whether the newsletter is really worth the effort that goes into putting it out each month. So hopefully this "cut and past" effort will be easier for you to respond for my request for inputs and suggestions.
I am also once again suggesting that you print out an extra copy or two to share with other aviation enthusiast and your EAA chapter; or just leave a few copies at your local airport lounge. That is an easy way to get the word out about this fine aircraft.
I hope everyone had a great holiday season and will have a wonderful new year.
Blue Skies,
Buz
PS: That's Buz with one "Z"; I use the Biblical spelling. If you do happen to use 2 "Zs", just remember the second "Z" is silent.
PSS: Newsletter Survey - please send directly to me at: n1bzrich(at)aol.com (n1bzrich(at)aol.com)
- Of the 11 issues that have been published so far, my favorite lead article or type of lead article so far has been _________________________________________________________________________________.
- Please make suggestions for future lead articles. ____________________________________________.
- Note: One of my favorites was Dick Clevenger's "travel log".
- Currently each issue is normally divided into the following sections: Lead article, News from the factory, News from the dealers, News from builders and flyers, Feedback from readers, Up coming events, Technical Tips, Skunk Works info, Other information, and Final thoughts. Questions - What other section should be included? _____________________________________________________________________________.
- What section is the most useful and/or enjoyable? __________________________________________.
- It the "Lightning of the Month" selection and photo a good thing? ______________________________ .
- What about the past "Centerfold of the Month"? Your thoughts ________________________________.
- Would you be willing to submit an article or story in the future? ________________________________.
- Almost any subject or topic is OK, but Lightning related would probably be best, but not mandantory.
- Other thoughts and suggestions _________________________________________________________.
- Remember, I want any feedback, good or bad, and any inputs for future issues. That is the only way this newsletter is going to keep being published and be useful to the group. Remember the newsletter should be helpful and enjoyable to current, future, and potential builders and flyers. I need your help to meet that goal.
One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail. Try it now.

Hello Buz,
1. "Bear Builds a Lightning" Honorable Mention: "The 51% Rule"
2. A "build" article from one of the home (not assisted) builders.
3. None that I can think of.
4. Lead story, technical tips
5. Yes, keep the "Lightning of the Month." Pin-ups are *always* a good thing.
6. Again, pin-ups are all good.
7. If I ever get enough money to buy a kit, sure!
8. Keep up the great work!
PS. I know most people are just enjoying flying their Lightning. However, there are others (like Earl) who are probably doing things that most other folks find cool (or just unusual). I'm sure it is very difficult to find these activities and even more difficult to get someone to take the time to write them up. However, more articles about cool/unusual uses of the Lightning would be wonderful too.
Thanks again for all of your hard work,
Mark.
