I am sure that someone besides me has noticed this but when I finally got around to looking at the magneto on the Jabiru, what a surprise to see that the design was the same as used on the Model T Ford. My Ford will be 97 years old in March and as far as I know the magneto as never been touched other than to have the magnets re-magnetized. This says a lot about the reliability of the design.

Hi Walt.
Interesting info. Just wondering if your Model T was the first car you bought "new".
Have a Great New Year,

Buz,

Actually I am the fourth owner. My father was the third, a friend of the family was the second and I don’t know who the first was. Not that old yet. However, my grandfather did not give up flying until he was 91.

Walt

That's super, Walt. Of course I was kidding about you buying it new. How is your new jet flying? When you get a chance write up some of your thoughts on the build process and flying observations for us to share with others in the newsletter. In fact, a great photo would be the "T" along side the Lightning. Kind of a reverse photo of Nick and my 'Vetts beside the Demo Lightning. I would really like that for the newsletter. When ever you get the chance, just send it directly to my email address.
Thanks,
Buz

Yep, a photo with the T and the Lightning together showing how far personal transportation has come in 100 years is what would be appreciated for the newsletter. (I think I remember the first Ford Model T came out in late 1908 - however, I was NOT alive when that happened).
