I liked the idea that someone else had to stop flexing the rudder cable ends but wanted to reduce the amount on length lost and also make the strength of the attachment not an issue, pivot from the centre etc.
I'd had criticism from the PFA about the stress on the cables when I was there in September so something had to be done.
Not very good pictures as in the back of the hangar and taken with my phone but you'll get the idea. There isn't a lot of room as you'll recall from the standard set up it's close but there's clearance enough. I've lost about 1/2" each side but the way I'd fitted the top pulleys in the centre of the plane I'd shortened the cable well doing the build.
I've now fitted two bolts on the rear rib caps to the Karman and the movement between rear of the wing and Karman has stopped. I got info from Spain that they use two bolts at the back on all non carbon Esquals
Electric trim is on with rocker switch fitted into the seat, position read out on the panel.
Mode S transponder received back from Filser updated and refitted.
Re-routed antenna cables on their own.
Looking to do some flying next week prior to installation of the stall strips that have been requested.
Then back to the PFA for another evaluation.
Regards, Clive

<?xml:namespace prefix="v" /><?xml:namespace prefix="o" /><![endif]--> Good morning James
I really like the looks of your brackets....it appears they are machined from aluminum. Very nice.
I made the same kind of brackets for the rudder cable ends on my Lightning from stainless steel flat stock. They flex in multi- directions with no binding. I had to shorten the cables and turnbuckles more than I wanted, but they still seem to be safe. I understand that Arion Lightning has the cables made for them. They could order shorter cables and use this type of installation.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm assuming it is not aluminum, but steel. Which is it James? Did you fabricate them yourself? It would be nice to be able to buy a set.
Does the following refer to fitting two rather than one rear wing angle of incidence bolts that go through the karman into the wing? I don't remember you have shared this issue before.

Hi Colin, that's the solution I hope to the problem. I had taped the
joint between the wing and the Karman and the tape split, found that
there was movement at the rear if the wingtip was pulled forwards. Danny
in Belgium checked his and it was Ok so I assumed mine was a one off, I
discovered through the grapevine two bolts were fitted, top and bottom
on some Esquals in Spain.
The aluminium links were just filed out of 1/2 ally bar stock, took
about 2.5 hours for the two.
