I was there when Forrest received his wing patch, he was one of the pilots
who received that little plastic airplane on a string. Larry and I would
stand around and talk about Piper Arrows (he owns one and I flew one alot).
These were my buds, people I trusted with my life as a GIB and would have
that day. That thought I had to get over was did Forrest have time to tell
Larry he was sorry. We each grieve differently, the only thing that is
wrong is NOT to grieve.

For whom the bell tolls a poem
(No man is an island) by John Donne
No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manner of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.
