FWIW, the Champion automotive spark plugs shipped with the conversion kit are used on small, air cooled engines intended to be operated at high RPM. If I'm not mistaken, after Craig purchased the kit from me he decided to experiment with a different plug(s). He posted his results on the yak-list and if I'm correct indicated there was no difference in the operation or performance.
The conversion kit was tested on a Sukhoi for over a year and as you know, typical Sukhoi drivers operate at basically two speeds, taxi and WOT. As of this writing, some of the Sukhoi aerobatic pilots on the US aerobatic team have converted and are still using the same plugs shipped with the kit. You can purchase $4 two massive electrode or $5 four massive electrode replacement plugs manufactured by Bosch, but I seriously doubt you will see any difference in performance or operation on a Yak 52 or CJ6 running an M14P and that includes the 400 HP versions as well.
I have complete kits in stock if anyone is interested and you can read about them on my web site, www.yak-52.com.
