I made a cardboard template and slowly trimmed it to satisfaction. Then I used it to cut my fairings to size plus some. If you cut them slightly larger, you can trim them with a dremel to get a perfect fit.

When I did this for my RV6 it was easier 6nbsp;to do than it is to describe but I will try E 6nbsp; I don 7t have my builders manual here and one or two pictures can describe it well C but the pictures I have from then are not digital E 6nbsp;
6nbsp;
First it was necessary to unload the gear by jacking the plane up by the wings and getting it in level flight attitude E 6nbsp; You want to simulate how the gear will be when in flight in order to eliminate drag E 6nbsp; Next drop a plum line from the longitudinal centerline 6nbsp;of the fuselage to the floor and draw it from the firewall to beyond the horizontal stabilizer E 6nbsp; Find a point (any point but 6nbsp;closer to the top and 6nbsp;the bottom) on the fairing you want to work with E 6nbsp; Measure out to these points from the centerline on 6nbsp;the floor E 6nbsp;Transfer these measurements to the rear now by measuring an equal distance out from the centerline to below the front edge of the horizontal stabilizer 6nbsp; and mark the floor E 6nbsp; Fasten a plumb stick from each of these 6nbsp;points on the floor below the stabilizer up to the front of the stabilizer and tape it in position C 6nbsp; make certain it is plumb E 6nbsp; Now C loop a string around the stick forward and around the fairing and back to the stick C keep it tight and at the same elevation on the fairing and the stick E 6nbsp; Do this for both the top and the bottom of the fairing at the same time E 6nbsp; So 6nbsp;you should now have two plum sticks and two string loops if you have done it right E 6nbsp;Once the strings are parallel 6nbsp;the centerline C and the elevations are equal C all you have to do is turn the fairing 6nbsp;slightly until you have the same amount of space from the strings to the center of the fairing 6nbsp;trailing joint E When you have them in place then you can tighten the clamps E
6nbsp;
My RV 6nbsp;is a tail dragger but doing the nose-wheel 6nbsp;fairing should be easy once you get the idea E
6nbsp;
I wish I had pictures to show you E 6nbsp; If you really need them C I can get mine scanned and then post them in about a week E

Tex,

I should have said, drop a plumb line from the horizontal centerline and draw it longitudinally along the fuselage on the floor from the firewall to beyond the horizontal stabilizer. Sorr for the mixup.
