I started work on the rear wing spars today and noticed that the w-1013a aileron hinge brackets are warped. With them lying flat on the table there's 1/16-3/32" gap in the center off the table on all 4 of them. Has anybody else run into this problem. Looks like it might have happened when they were "stamped" out. Obviously I'll wait 'til monday and see what Vans has to say but does anybody else have any thoughts on this. Surely it's not wise to use them like this, or is it???

Anyhow, pictures are attached.

Thanks in advance,
Bill Britton

I would say, treat it as the horizontal tabs that stick up from the tailcone, beat on them in a vice with a rubber mallet to straighten them.

I vaguely remember the same issue (I'm kit #40176), I reasonably sure I "flatened" them back out with a little vise and clamp action.

Yep, perfectly normal. Just flatten them back out. They'll straighten
when you rivet them to the other piece anyway.
