Hello Kitfoxers,

Does anybody have a part number for an oil fitting that screws into the oil intake side (oil pump inlet) of the Rotax 912, and the other thread end goes to an Earl's fitting? I have one from an auto parts store that claims it is 37 degrees (aviation) as opposed to the 40 degree automotive. Mine leaks and I think the fitting on the engine is not the same angle as the Earl's fittings.

Thanks,

Kirk,
Do yourself a favor and contact Merle Willaiams at murlewilliamsaviation.com . He has the proper aviation fittings for your engine and will know what you need. I had to do the same thing. Here is an example on my oil cooler. The fitting on the far side (which you cant' see) reverses itself 180 degress in a very short space. It would have kinked a hose I then had to run a very short hose piece (about 3 ") then into a special fitting into the oil pump. Merle had all these pieces and knew exactly what I was talking about.

I wouldn't try to load the web site.
<http://www.murlewilliamsaviation.com/>

According to AVG's web shield, the site is blocked because of it's association with
www.sonoragraphics.com. Here's the exact message I get:

Multiple threat detection:

"www.sonoragraphics.com/williamsaviation/";"Exploit Link to known exploit site";""

Phoning him is probably best as I don't think he frequents his computer for e-mail.

Merle Williams' phone: 602-978-0553

In order to look into this a little further, I used wget (in Linux) to contact the site:

# wget http://www.murlewilliamsaviation.com/

=> `index.html'
Resolving www.murlewilliamsaviation.com... done.

12:21:49 (390.62 KB/s) - `index.html' saved [400/400]
That resulted in saving the opening page which does redirection to senoragraphics:

There's nothing wrong with the site, Paul. The hosting service where
the site is located (StartLogic.com) had quite a few of their
accounts compromised not long ago. They sent out notifications to
account holders, passwords and authentication methods have been
changed, and the sites re-loaded.

Google was notified of the problem but they are not very fast in
revisiting sites that have been cleaned up. I believe that the AVG
software is using information provided by Google to warn of
compromised sites.

SonoraGraphics.com is my site and is one of those that was
compromised during the attacks on StartLogic. All of the files have
been reloaded and the sites should now be secure.

Murle gets his e-mail regularly, but phoning him works fine too.

This redirection is per design, Paul, and is not part of an exploit
of any kind. Murle's site has been sharing space with mine for many
years now.

I had no idea that I had a "reputation". Where would one become
aware of such a reputation?

As I mentioned, the hosting service and I have removed any exploits
introduced by the hackers and have taken steps to prevent future
attacks. The fact that it takes search engine companies a while to
figure this out is beyond my control, but they have been notified.

Mike,
I get a Virus warning when I attempt to open Merle's website,
http://www.murlewilliamsaviation.com . Your website, www.sonargraphics.com ,
does not produce any warnings. My website had a similar problem to Merle's.
I got with the hosting folks and literally had to remove some of the
Javascript graphics in the index.html file to rectify the situation because
they were infected with a Trojan. It appears that Merle's website has the
same Trojan - JS:Agent-BA [Trj]- as mine had. It appears that the file,
http://www.sonoragraphics.com/williamsaviation/ is the file that is
producing the first warning. I didn't let the site open even that file, so
my Avast! Antivirus didn't check any further, In my case the Trojan had
spread to some archives in the website directory as well. It took less than
24 hours for Google to show it clean after I initiated the request for them
to re-check the site after cleanup.

I think a separate request is in order for Murle's URL.

Murle's site doesn't have any Javascript to speak of, but I've
reloaded the entire site from secure backups anyway.

I haven't had that quick a response but I imagine with all the
hackers in the world they are kept quite busy. Thanks for the input,
John.

Mike,
I just checked Merle's website again. No Virus warning this time, so
apparently, the reload worked out well.
