Bill,

I got my carpet, upholstery fabric, polyboard and polyfoam from Airtex Products, Inc. They are in your neck of the woods - Fallsington, PA. Phone 215-295-4417. All products are approved for use in airplanes.

Hi Bill,
I used a thin lightweight carpet that can be used outdoors and it was
glued to
the 1/2-inch soundproofing on the floor. That really made a considerable
noise
reduction having the soundproofing on sides firewall and floor. I've
since put
soundproofing on the outside of the firewall too, but my engine is a cooler
element within the cowling. Don't think that would work for air cooled
engines.

Bill:
I found very light weight indoor/outdoor carpet at Menards Lumber Yard.

Very nice, easy to fold and cut, comes in light blue and grey. Very reasonable price.

Ya, just go to your local hardware store. Ask to see the outdoor carpet. It’s polypropylene (I believe) and is very light, easy to cut and glue and has a dense weave and is tough to boot.
