A friend of mine has an AA1B that he wants to sell. His wife lost her
job while he was in Iraq and now they are losing everything. Kind of
sounds like a country song doesn't it.
1973 AA1B
1214 TTAF
1214 TTEngine. Compressions 62/80, 74/80, 68/80, 72/80
1214 TTProp
1214 TTleft mag
303 TTright mag
Fresh annual. Everything is pretty much stock. This was also the
first plane for another customer of mine (who has a Tiger now). He
bought it in 1976. The plane was not flown much from 2001 to 2006. It
was flown a lot in 2007 before Dave when to Iraq.
We've done a lot to this plane, fixed baffles, stopped a lot of oil
leaks, repainted the nose strut. We pulled both wings and resealed the
fuel tanks. It has a King 125 in it, plus another radio I don't
remember off hand. It's a decent little plane.
He wants $20,000 but, he'd take $18,000 for it. Make him an offer.
Forward this to someone who might be looking for a plane that needs a
good home.
PS, if you think $20,000 is too much, about what would this plane go
for out of curiosity?

Hi Gary,
Really sorry to hear about Dave's situation. If you or anyone you know
subscribes to Trade-A-Plane, they have an aircraft pricing program on the
website. I think they call it the Evaluator. It asks bunch of questions and
then provides a value range. Unfortunately, my subscription just expired.
Haven't been flying the plane nearly as much now that I don't commute to
Fresno, but I did get my CFI back after 18 years. I want to get Allisen
some logable left seat time.
