Hi:
I thought I posted this before.

Looking for ideas of what to use, to hold down items, on the bagage compartment.
I do not want to pay $30.00 for two, anchors, like Vans sells.

I look in home depot, to see if they had something I could used, like a ring, with some
way I could anchor to the rib on the baggage section... but no luck..

Any one have some ideas tehy have

Easy enough to do.

Scroll to the bottom of this page: http://www.repucci.com/bill/fuselage_pg4.html

Eight bucks for the tie downs isn't too bad. The installation was easy enough as well. Of course it would have been easier to do while building but that is another story.

PS. If you are going to use rivnuts, make sure you get the "keyed" verity. These have a small bump on the bottom of the shoulder to keep them from spinning once installed.

Bill: Thanks for the info. I like the tie downs, and intedn to purchase them. For installation I will use
nut plates, and no. 8 screws. Since these will be on tha flange of one of the floor ribs, is not too hard
to use the Squeezer, to set the nut plates...

On a matter of where to place the fuel meassurement tube, wheat I did, is on the side of the fuselage,
on each side, took a piece of aluminum, to cover the space between the two longerons on the bagage compartment,
they are about 10" by 8" or so, covered these with cloth, to match the interior, and use screws with dimple
wahsers. so now I have on the bagagge compartment two pockets, one each side, to store, things I have
the Airpot book, theFlight guide, flash lite, and documents, on the other side I keep the fuel measurement stick
I made, and the plastic tube to drain fuel for testing...

I hope this will give you another idea..also.

Bert,

FYI - the tiedown bases are already chamfered for a #10 screw, thus you might want to upsize your platenuts. I was afraid #8's would pull through.

Had I thought of this while building, like you there would be plate nuts back there rather than rivnuts. Oh well, live and learn.

Thanks for the tip on the fuel cup.
