The removal of the Gull wing baffle as per SERVICE LETTER: JSL 004-1
Issue: 1
Date: 29th January 2008 on the 3300 Jabiru engine. Did you do this mod or not??????? Thanks

The baffle was originally installed on the top of the cylinders, you should move it to the same position underneath the cylinders.

OK, now you guys have my attention. What does moving the baffles underneath the cylinders do for you?

It moves more air around the whole cylinder surface area, especially the bottom portion -- less waist of air cooling! This has been the practice of Lycoming and continental for many years.
