A post script.... I did end up removing the engine. On one hand I'm
glad I did - plenty of access to do a few things that I needed to do.
And of course the riveting was easy. However! Getting the engine back
on was now seemingly impossible. After several sweaty attempts, much
thinking, some denial, and several more attempts, I found that the 30min
process could not be replicated. What happened?
Well, putting the engine on initially was a piece of cake. But trying
to put it on with the prop installed on it raised the level of
difficulty beyond my ability. The load was just too imbalanced to get
all lined up on the mount. So, I pulled the prop, put the engine back
on in 15 minutes, then re-installed the prop.
This was an avoidable piece of the learning curve but may come in handy
later.

Yeah, the SD-20 is the main problem. At this point, it's *almost*
easier to remove the engine than to cycle that thing on and off. That
4th nut is a bear!
