I am new to the Yak world but have a question.  I have a severe roll to the right. Which trim tab should I adjust and which direction do I bend them? Steve G.Hotmail® has ever-growing storage! Don’t worry about storage limits. Check it out. [quote][b]

Although the trim tabs on either aileron can be adjusted to correct the situation, if it's rolling to the right, first try bending the left aileron trim tab by CAREFULLY bending it downward. To help understand which way to bend a trim tab, think of which way you want the aileron to go and then bend the trim tab in the opposite direction you want the aileron to go.

I would suggest sandwiching the trim tab between two 1/4" pieced of wood and clamping the wood with two clamping pliers. Hold both clamping pliers and slowly and carefully bend the trim tab a miniscule amount. Even the slightest movement will make a difference. Do a little at a time until it fly's the way you want it. To help understand which way to bend a trim tab, think of which way you want the aileron to go and then bend the trim tab in the opposite direction you want the aileron to go. ie: Bending up pushes the aileron down; Bending down pushes the aileron up.

In your case if the airplane is rolling to the right, the left aileron may be slightly down creating a little more lift on the left wing. Therefore you want to raise the left aileron. To do that, bend the trim tab down.

Hope this helps.
Dennis

Also remember your rudder trim plays into the equation. Once you tweak your aileron tabs, you'll likely have to tweak your rudder trim tab also. It's trial and error, obviously, so it will likely take you a few flights.

Hope this helps.....

Cheers,

Barry

Thanks to Barry C Jill and Dennis for your advise.  I bent the right tab up and it worked like a charm.  SteveWindows Live™ SkyDrive™: Get 25 GB of free online storage. Get it on your BlackBerry or iPhone. [quote][b]
