All-

     Do you have to pre-register for  the Zenith dinner at Oshkosh? I couldn't find anything on the Zenith  website.

     After 20+ years as an EAA member  I can finally make it to Mecca.

Actually, go to www.zenith.aero  and look at the leftmost  column at the bottom for EVENTS. 

  

 You can click to sign up, and see who else is  attending.  (you can change your mind and un-attend, if need  to)

  

 This method makes it much easier for the planners  to get a head count accurate and early.. and see your friends that are planning  to make it!

Ahh, well. One of the few disadvantages I can think of to living in nice, 

remote, far west Texas is that it's so doggone far to Oshkosh. With no 

airplane flying, and a three day up, three day back trip by pickup, I don't 

see us making it.

I understand that due to the recent rancor on the lists that all weapons will need to be checked at the door.

Hello All, this answer is directed at a few but brings home a point for all. I spend a fair bit of time in preparation of both the Sun-N-Fun BBQ of which is my personal event. I also host and prepare the Oshkosh Builders dinner which is an Official Zenith event. The Zenith builder’s dinner is a relaxed evening for Builders, Owners, their spouses and children.   

About 8 years ago it was a dinner with a 5 minute speech from Chris Heintz and then a gathering.   

Over the years I have expanded it to include an evening of entertainment and a little information from the company. Last year we addressed a few concerns during the dinner and provided a format of information that was otherwise unavailable at the time( some spouses did not enjoy the information session). This year we will not be having that discussion. For all those who wish to hold a discussion over publicized events I welcome you to please attend this Forum.

The builders dinner is a place of bonding, a gathering of spirit and an evening of enjoyment, it is a place in which we honor those accomplishments that are achieved before us. It is not a place of heated discussion or political agenda, that can be expressed elsewhere. I invite all of you who have questions which need to be answered to attend the forum listed above and ask any questions you may wish.    

   

IT is not my intent to stave off any questions or concerns that any of you may have, in fact we welcome all enquiries that are reasonable and informative. IT is my desire to ensure that all guests of the builder’s dinner have the most enjoyment possible and that my hard work results in smiling faces and an evening that is memorable as an event worth repeating in future years to come.

As you should Sabrina, I have nothing but respect for you since the dinner I

introduced you at a couple of years ago. Technical discussion and problem

solving has always been a part of the builders dinner and will always remain

as such. I am trying to avoid having anyone use the builders dinner as a

personal arena to accomplish an agenda. A show such as that would only deter

from an enjoyable evening with people who share the same interest. 



Discussion of topics is desirable among all builders and the forum that will

be attended only a few hours prior to the dinner is a far better venue to

air out concerns and receive Technical information on tests that have been

performed. Specific questions and technical information is far better served

during a Forum then during a Social Gathering.



Sabrina, I am sorry you took my previous letter as a personal one, honestly

you never entered my mind as I wrote it. I was remembering a gent at

Sun-N-Fun that carried his agenda a bit too far at a Forum and though he is

more then welcome to ask any questions at the next forum I ask that such a

performance not be repeated during the builders dinner.

 I understand that emotions can get carried away, and a heated discussion

can erupt. I wish for nothing but good memories be taken away with everyone

from the Builders Dinner. 



Sabrina I am glad to hear that you are coming to the dinner, I look forward

to seeing you again.
