All-
I was shucking corn for dinner tonight by my side yard and heard a "Putt". Not 12' away was ma turkey with her poults. If any of you are hunters, you know this just doesn't happen. Totally fearless. I carried on a conversation with her about her babies and she "putted" like she was answering. No flight, no running, just went on about her business.
I've never seen anything like this in my life. The only thing I can think of is, she wants to get her poults in my shop to roost along with the other winged thing that isn't fully fledged.
Mind you, I wouldn't be so poetic about a possum. Pictures attached. Can you make out the little guys?

I had a strange visit too. Yesterday I opened my hangar / pole barn and noticed a bad smell. After further examination I found a dead Great Blue Heron lying under my fuselage. I left one of the doors open for a few hours while I was away a couple of days ago and assume it crashed in then.
It had about a 4 foot wingspan and was an impressive sight.... too bad it ended up this way.
