Hey Guys and Gals: I am in the middle of my annual condition inspection. I need to replace my fuel filters, and of course Oshkosh is in full swing, so I only get a recorder at Shelbyville.
Can anyone tell me what the fuel filters are that are used in the Lightning? I have one in my hand, and the only markings I can find say made in Brazil.
Thanks
Lynn Nelsen

It is a .25" inline fuel filter. You can either purchase a frame G1 or to replace the originals that came with your kit go to skygeek.comRyan GrossGreen Landings

Hey Lynn,
As i was puting together all my maintenace numbers getting ready for my repairman certificate for my lightning, I asked the guys at Shelbyville about alot of these type of things.

IRT the fuel filters....the are a 1/4 inlet, disposable unit. They buy theirs from Redding Marine p/n SIE187829

Hope this helps.

Paul

Paul,

I don’t mean to be nitpicky, but in order to expedite sourcing of the fuel filter, I discovered that the name of the company is “Redden” Marine. It is amazing what you can figure out with a Google search.

Also, Buz, you have a huge audience with the Lightning Newsletter. I value every issue and archive them all for reference. I don’t care if the August one is weeks late and even combined with September, just as long as it eventually get published with all its usual valuable and useful information. It is a treasure to any Lightning builder, owner and those anticipating being one.

Steve, thanks for "checking my six". You are right; it is Redden...That's what I have in my note book, but not what I wrote, must be the age thing...
