Can anyone remember if there's an AD on the Lyc 320/360 oil pump or
drive gear after the the one in '96 requiring a return to steel pump
gears? That's the last one I can find.
Thanks,
Charlie

The one in 96 is the last one out.

Be careful. The compliance date was July of 2001. I'm sure there are
engines out there that still haven't complied, because of confusion over
that AD that was revised more times than the pump was revised. It is
easy to make the change if engine is off airplane, a larger pain if on
the aircraft. BTW, the original pump was aluminum/steel impellers and is
still legal. The later sintered impellers, and the later version of
aluminum/steel both had to be replaced with the current steel/steel
impellers. IMHO, I would want the latest version regardless of legalities.

Thanks, Mike. That means the acc case can stay on the engine.

Thanks for the heads-up, but I think I'm good to go. The AD was complied
with; I was concerned about missing an AD that might have come out later.

Charlie...
I am currently overhauling my IO-360. An AD search has turned up nothing new regarding the oil pump gear AD. Yes, machined steel gears. (formerly sintered steel.)
