I have a question For all of you running 4 stroke engines out there.

I have my (Yamaha) engine propped so I see about 8000 RPM on climb out on nice cool 65 degree mornings. I have noticed that on days when I fly and it is 80 or so, that the engine will only reach about 7600 RPM on climb out. Is this the same thing you see with your 912’s, HKS’s and VW’s?

Jason

I don't notice any RPM reductions with my VW powered Kolb on hot days but there is a reduced climb rate.

Jason, We had a relatively mild July with few days over 100 and generally
low winds so I got to fly my HKS in more 90 + degree weather than the last
two years. I don't see any RPM degradation with temperature, just as Rick N
