Hi Guys,

I received my camlocs for the cowling from ASSC the other day.

Attached is a photo. The photo shows:-

40S5-3S SS CAMLOC STUD
Quote:
4002-NS CAMLOC GROMMET 214-16ND CAMLOC 4002 Receptacle

How do I get the stud into the grommet. Do I have to remove the pin? If so, how?

Cheers

I haven’t used the grommets on mine but this is how I get the camloc studs through the holes I drill. Compress the camloc and its spring with the special camloc pliers. Then you should be able to “hook” the shaft with the pin through the grommet. Try this document:

Craig,

Thanks for that.

A pair of needle nose pliers did the same thing. I was looking for a complicated solution to what is a simple problem.

Thanks

Peter

Peter,

There is a tool that is used to install these. Look in the catalogue that you purchased them from. If I remember you can modify a pair of pliers to match the tool.
