I'm looking at putting a corvair conversion into the Kit 7SS. Have
any of you done this install? Anyone know if an engine mount for
this might be available? If not, with your experiences, how
difficult do you think it would be to fabricate this mount? Any
ballpark idea what it would cost to have fabricated?

Can be done and if there is a mount william winn would be the guy to know
And there are some new cylinders that are lighter but I don't think they are
proven just yet. 2 things you should do though.
1. nitride the crank
2. 5th bearing

probably william wynn the corvair guru could supply you with a template for the engine side pattern of the mount. i bet he would even supply the mount. and i believe he has seminars to build your engine. an outfit in wi. that welds parts for a bunch of kit mfgers. made mine and it is beautiful. price probably around 400-600 from anyone. get a hold of wm. first i would say. i can supply the name of my welding shop if you or anyone has interest.

Thanks, fellas for your help. While Brady thinks a corvair on a fox
would be possible, listening to you, the builders, suggests that the
result would likely not be good. May just have to look to the
Jab3300 or Rotax 912ULS as better though much more expensive
alternatives. Thanks again.
