I'm using a RAC POS-12 to send flap position to a Dynon 180.

Has anyone else installed one of these? I'm trying to figure out a spot to mount it?

Gig--
I mounted mine just behind the control arm of the flaps. I formed a piece of aluminum that is riveted to the floor and has a slope on it such that the control rod with clevises (from Radio Control Model shop) is mounted in a straight line from the sensor to the upper part of the flap control arm. You will need to find the sweet spot that will give you the complete range you are looking for.
good luck

Gig--The photos of my installation that Craig posted works very well. I set it up as a "proof of concept", and it worked so well I put finishing touches on it and left it. It is made with model airplane clevises and wheel collars, and actually measures the movement of the limit switch arm. It is adjustable to fine tune the movement of the sensor arm. I'm not flying yet, but I don't foresee any problems with it.

You would have to adapt the design a little if you have the new style flap
motor. But the basic concept would carry over nicely.
